Just a wee bit: Part Duex

I'm freezing right now. Seriously what are they thinking in this airport...it's cold outside that means it should be the opposite inside.

Well friends, Scotland treated me well. Short but oh so sweet. Spent a bitmore poundage than anticipated but I wanted to have a jolly time. I gave myself the ol' "I got A's my first term in grad school" excuse. I'm pretty stoked because The Growlers are performing in London on Wednesday so I get to see them again. Groupie? Nahhhhhh. Just a fan (who apprently is following them around the UK). The show was soooo good. I said that already but it needed repetition.

Edinburgh was stunning. I HIGHLY recommend it. Highly. Oh, minor set back...I sprained my ankle wearing the worst flats known to man. Mostly it's becuase they have stretced and are now too big so I was contantly gripping my feet in funky positions and therefore sprained it right nice. As I type I have ice wrapped in my Scottish scarf I bought.

See....

Proper shoes for city walking is not a joking matter. The people that I met were all sooooo friendly. I very much would like to live in Edinburgh. People are wayyyy nicer than in London. Oh and the streets are sooo clean. Every shop I went into I chatted up the staff and they were soooo helpful. Shared some good laughs and stories with the shop owner of a vinyl/book shop called "Elvis Shakespeare" and a tattoo shop where I got an ear piercing. The bartender who gave me my first Single Malt 12 yr old Scottish whiskey was ooober nice too. Scotland, you have my heart now. I shall explore your highlands next time. Oh and the Scottish husband market as well. (Best. Accent. Ever.) ;)

Any who, wish me safe travel back. Term 2 starts for me on Tuesday. Yeahhhh buddy.

Just a wee bit: Scotland Part 1

Holy smokes artichokes. Edinburgh is amaze. Like so far the most beautiful city I've seen. The show was great. Food has been great and I had my first Scottish single malt whiskey.....not a fan, however when in Rome yes? I shall explore much more tomorrow. I can already tell 1 and half days is not going to be enough...

I had a proper Scottish brew.

I feel so smart

This is so sad. I feel very proud of myself that I figured out how to edit and customize my blog. Well...atleast a little. I'm giving a HUGE shoutout to:

"The Capital Carley" thecapitalcarley.com

Thank you for your genius.

I'm going to Scotland tomorrow. Yeah...I know. I know. Trust...I'm stoked. Oh and did I mention I'll be seeing The Growlers? How silly of me. I'm seeing the Growlers at the Electric Circus in Edinburgh. BOOM! I'm staying at the cutest darn place (at lease I hope it turns out that way...fingers crossed). Pics to come of my solo adventure.

You know what I'm going to say.

I'm gonna pull a Sheldon Cooper and say it anyways...Have a proper brew my friends! (Knock...Penny).

Artsy Fartsy

So I haven't posted in a while (sorry to me loyal readers...if I have any...which I don't think I do as of now ha) I have been rather busy. I'm blaming school, work and Netflix. It's also kind of like when I have a 3,000 word paper to write and I take a break every 10 minutes to watch "It's always Sunny". Just puuuusssshiiiinnn that deadline on back. I still get er' done.

Anywho...term 1 is done-so! It's pretty cray cray that I only have 4 more terms (hopefully) then I'll be back home. I've been gettin more homesick lately and I'm not too sure why. Actually I kind of know. I'm so sad that I will miss the birth of one of my very best friends first baby. I cannot wait to lay my eyes on little Noah. I'm bummed that I won't spend Christmas with my family ...which is a first. And there's always certain people who've been a huge part of your life that just never leave your mind. Even after so much past and the crazy circumstances that drove you apart, you just can't stop. Weird how that works yes? It's probably stubborness. However I constantly remind myself of how blessed I am to have this opportunity. Every time I start to feel stressed or fearful of the future, I open my Daily Devotional (which was given to me by my amazing friend Roxy-who is working for the FCA now in NY...sooo proud of her!) and realize there's no need for me to feel that way. It's amazing how comforting that knowledge and assurance is.

I have this week off so I'll be doing a bit of exploring. The coast seems to have been calling my name lately so I sense a day trip in my immediate future. There's only so long I can go without digging my feet in the sand and smelling the salty sea air. Perhaps it's my inner California girl that can't quite let go. I'm alright with it;) That Katy Perry sure knows her stuff. North Sea.....you get in my senses.

I might even find time to enjoy a proper brew.
